What is the main goal of the Head-Royce admissions interview, and what are the interviewers really trying to learn about my child?

The main goal of the Head-Royce interview is to get to know your child as a whole person beyond the information presented in their application. While the application provides academic records, a list of extracurricular activities, and written essays and personal statements, the interview offers a more dynamic and personal interaction.

The admissions officers want to understand your child’s personality, character, and how they think. They want to know what your child’s genuine interests and passions are and how much they are willing to develop these. Above all these, the interview is also an opportunity for the school to assess your child’s communication skills, their enthusiasm to attend Head-Royce, and their fit for the school community, not just academically, but also socially and emotionally.
