What is the STEAM Scholars Program at Rye Country Day School?

Think of it as the honors club for the creatively curious. The STEAM Scholars Program at RCDS is for Upper School students who don’t just want to take things apart—they want to reinvent them. It’s a two-year journey packed with next-level classes, expert mentorship, and a final capstone project that’s kind of like the student version of a mic drop. Scholars might prototype eco-friendly tech, code solutions to real-world problems, or engineer gadgets that make your jaw drop. Along the way, they collaborate with faculty, connect with outside experts, and even get a taste of what working in a real lab or startup might feel like. Bottom line: If your kid is dreaming up ideas in the shower and sketching designs in their notebook, this is their jam.
