How many students take the SAT each year in New York?

Every year, around 120,000 students in New York take the SAT, according to the College Board. That puts New York among the top states for SAT participation. A big part of that is because many public high schools offer the test during the school day, which makes it super accessible.

From elite private schools in Manhattan to large public schools in Queens, the SAT is a major milestone for college-bound students across the state. Whether you’re in Buffalo, Brooklyn, or somewhere in between, odds are you’ll be joining a pretty big crowd of test-takers trying to show colleges what they’re made of.
