What are the testing requirements for Seattle Country Day School admissions?

Seattle Country Day School does not require SSAT or ISEE scores for admission. Instead, all applicants must take an intelligence test administered by a licensed psychologist:

  • Kindergarten – 4th Grade: Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI-IV)
  • 5th – 8th Grade: Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-V)

Qualified applicants typically score near the 97th percentile on the Full-Scale Intelligence Quotient (FSIQ) or General Abilities Index (GAI). Test results must be sent directly from the psychologist to Seattle Country Day School.

The school’s SSAT code is 7242 and ISEE code is 481686. These standardized tests help assess academic readiness. Test scores should be submitted by mid-January, so families should register early. Testing spots can fill up quickly, so plan ahead to avoid last-minute issues. There’s no minimum score requirement, but a strong performance can strengthen an application. Parents can help their child prepare by using online practice tests or working with a tutor. Since test-taking can be stressful, make sure your child is well-rested and confident on test day.
