Campbell Hall Overview

Campbell Hall is a private Christian K-12 high school located on a 15-acre campus in Studio City, Los Angeles. Its population sits at around 1100 students, with an average class size of 15 and an 8:1 student-teacher ratio. These small numbers ensure that each and every student is given the support they need to succeed from the over 250 faculty and staff. Founded in 1944, Campbell Hall has been providing a comprehensive education that commits itself to service and community engagement. At its core, Campbell Hall dedicates itself to an education that presents children with equal opportunity to learn in a nurturing, loving, responsible, and healthy way. Owing to its location, Campbell Hall sports a diverse student body. At 48%, almost half of all students are students of color who are also supported by a faculty that is 37% POC.

How hard is it to get into Campbell Hall?

Because of its ideal location in the heart of Los Angeles and its reputation, Campbell Hall is a highly sought-after school. As such, they accept very few students each academic school year based on the number of available slots. Their main entry points are kindergarten, 7th grade, and 9th grade. Campbell Hall typically admits 44-46 new students in kindergarten, 60-65 new students in 7th grade, and 30-35 new students in 9th grade. Openings for other grade levels are based on attrition, with 6th grade specifically accepting an additional 10 new students.

With the help of private school admissions consultants who completely understand the admissions process, your chances of getting accepted will rise significantly. They can help you plan and strategize on how to make your child stand out from the rest.

The steps may vary slightly with your child’s grade level but generally, here are the steps you should follow:

  1. Submit the application.

  4. Request a transcript.

Campbell Hall Admissions

Admissions Interview

Applicants are required to schedule an interview with admissions officers. To guarantee an in-person interview, applicants should take note of the deadline posted on the Campbell Hall website. Those who are able to schedule an in-person interview will also receive a campus tour during their visit. Typically lasting 45-60 minutes, applicants will first be interviewed individually and then together with their parent or guardian.

The interview is a chance for families to learn more about Campbell Hall by asking questions about the school’s culture and academics. Likewise, admissions officers will be assessing and evaluating both your family and child to gauge if your family will be a good fit for the school community. If this process seems daunting to you, we suggest undergoing informed interview preparation with the help of our admissions consultants. They have experience helping families and understand how best to answer common questions in a way that can help your child stand out.

Teacher Recommendations/Recommendation Letters

Letters of recommendation are required from the applicant’s current math and English teacher. A letter is also required of an administrator of the school. You may submit the recommender’s email to the online portal for electronic submissions. Forms may be downloaded if your child’s current school prefers hard copies.

These letters are a crucial part of the application process as recommenders talk about your child in a professional and unbiased manner. Their observations of your child’s academic aptitude, personality, and character will help admissions officers understand how your child will perform at Campbell Hall.

Transcript

Applicants are required to submit a transcript. The transcript release form may be found on the Campbell Hall website. Students applying to grade 1 are only required to submit a first semester or trimester report card from the current academic year. Students applying for grade 2 are only required to submit their transcript of the preceding school year and a first semester or trimester report card from the current academic year. Applicants for grades 3-12 are required to submit their transcript of the preceding two school years and a first semester or trimester report card from the current academic year.

Transcripts are an important aspect of your child’s application as they demonstrate your child’s readiness to handle Campbell Hall’s curriculum. If you worry that your child’s grades may not be up to standard, we suggest starting private school admissions consulting. Through online or in-person tutoring and academic coaching, we have a team of tutors and academic coaches ready to help boost your child’s GPA while also teaching executive function skills
