The average base salary of a tutor in the San Francisco Bay Area is $26.68 per hour (source: www.indeed.com). Some tutoring companies pay as much as $35 per hour for their more senior tutors. The rates depend on the tutor’s credentials and qualifications. To earn more, a tutor has to put in more hours and teach more students, which, sometimes, makes it challenging to juggle work and school. If you’re a professional, we require a Bachelor’s Degree or higher from a nationally accredited university, proficiency in the subject, and previous experience in tutoring and/or test prep.
If you’re a college student, you need to be a high-achieving student with excellent grades, proficiency in the subject at a high school level, and good character. We might require a recommendation letter or referral from one of your current professors.

We offer part-time tutoring jobs for college students who live near our offices in Burlingame and Woodside, preferably in Atherton, Hillsborough, Palo Alto, Stanford, San Mateo, Redwood City, and other surrounding areas.
