Quick Answer for Busy Parents

Milton Academy uses a single January 15 application deadline for both Middle School (Grades 6-7) and Upper School (Grades 9-12) applicants. Middle School tours and interviews begin in September, and testing must be completed by the January 15 deadline. Financial aid deadlines differ by family type: December 15 for returning families, January 31 for new applicants. Admission decisions arrive March 10, with enrollment contracts due April 10.

The Shared January 15 Deadline

Milestone Date
All application materials due (both divisions) January 15
Admission decisions released March 10
Enrollment contract and deposit due April 10

Despite running very different application processes, Middle School and Upper School applicants share this same core calendar. Where the two divisions diverge is in what happens between now and January 15.

Middle School Timeline Specifics (Grades 6-7)

Middle School applicants schedule a required Student/Parent Tour and Interview beginning in September, through Ravenna. The SSAT or ISEE must also be completed and scores sent directly to Milton by January 15. Because both the interview and testing take real lead time to schedule, Middle School families benefit most from starting in the fall rather than waiting for the January deadline to approach.

Upper School Timeline Specifics (Grades 9-12)

Upper School applicants have no interview to schedule, since Milton is not currently offering interview appointments at that level, but the essays and Parent Statement components still take real time to prepare well. Optional standardized testing, if a family chooses to submit it, should also be completed before the January 15 deadline.

Financial Aid and Decision Dates

Milestone Date
Financial aid deadline, returning families December 15
Financial aid deadline, new applicant families January 31
Admission decisions released March 10
Enrollment contract and deposit due April 10
