Quick Answer for Busy Parents
Marin Academy’s admissions process runs September through March. Ravenna accounts open September 1, interviews run October through January, and the full application, including recommendations, transcripts, and a Graded Writing Sample, is due January 5. Tuition Assistance applications are due January 8, and decisions arrive in mid-to-late March alongside Revisit Days.

Unlike schools with staggered deadlines by grade, Marin Academy’s process centers almost entirely on 9th-grade entry, with a single application deadline each cycle.
Interview Scheduling
Interviews run from October through January and are only available once the MA Preliminary Form and application fee are submitted on Ravenna. Applicants choose one of three formats: a 1:1 Conversation, a Design Workshop, or a Passage Discussion. Scheduling early in the window, rather than waiting until January, gives families more flexibility in choosing an interview date and format.

Staying on Schedule
The most common scheduling misstep is waiting until January to request teacher recommendations, when both a math and an English teacher recommendation are required alongside the principal or counselor recommendation. Starting those requests in the fall, as soon as the Ravenna account opens, keeps the January 5 deadline from becoming a scramble.
