Exeter requires two 200–500 word essays with prompts provided inside the Exeter Applicant Portal, plus a separate parent statement. 02Recommendations & Transcripts
Exeter requires recommendations from a current principal or counselor, current English and math teachers, and one personal recommendation, with an optional special-interest recommendation. Recommendation and transcript forms open October 1 in Gateway to Prep Schools; current and previous-year transcripts are sent directly by the applicant’s school.

03Testing
Grade 9 and 10 applicants submit the upper-level SSAT or ISEE; grade 11 applicants may also submit the PSAT, SAT, PreACT, or ACT; grade 12 and postgraduate applicants submit one of the latter four.
