Awty Upper School Admissions: An Asian American Family Guide

The Awty International School does not publish a current, specific Asian American enrollment percentage, though the school reports drawing students from approximately 50 countries, alongside local Houston families. Awty describes itself as celebrating cultural, national, and linguistic diversity, and its Upper School offers a genuine choice between the International Baccalaureate (IB) track, which requires no French, and the French Baccalauréat track. Founded in 1956, Awty is a nonsectarian, coeducational school serving PK3 through Grade 12.

What Families Should Ask About Community Life

Because Awty’s demographic reporting isn’t broken out by specific ethnicity, families interested in the Asian American community specifically should ask direct questions during a visit: what current student clubs or affinity spaces exist, how the school’s stated commitment to cultural and linguistic diversity shows up day to day, and what current Asian American students and families say about their experience.
