What Makes Sage Hill’s Admissions Process Unique?

Sage Hill’s biggest current admissions shift is its new middle school: the inaugural 7th and 8th grade classes open in fall of 2026, with roughly 60–70 students planned per grade, eventually growing to about 140 middle school students total. Even so, Sage Hill’s own guidance is clear that 9th grade remains the strongest entry point for most families, since more than half of each incoming 9th grade class is typically new to the school; spots for transfer applicants in Grades 10–12 are extremely limited and considered only as they become available.

What the Sage Hill Application Requires

To apply to Sage Hill School, you will need to submit the following:

  1. 01Student Statement

The student statement provides the admissions committee with a direct sense of your voice. Use this to share unique interests and your approach to problem-solving, offering insight into how you will contribute to the Sage Hill community.

  2. 02Parent Statement

The parent statement allows you to advocate for your child by highlighting their character and personal growth, providing the admissions committee with essential context on how your family’s values align with Sage Hill’s community.

  3. 03Student Interview

The interview is a vital opportunity for the admissions committee to understand the student’s unique personality and interests and to see how your family’s values align with the Sage Hill community.

  4. 04Standardized Testing

Applicants submit SSAT or ISEE scores as part of their standardized assessment portfolio. Families should focus on test preparation that aligns with the student’s learning style, as Sage Hill views these scores as just one part of a holistic profile.

  5. 05Transcript & Records

To submit transcripts and records, applicants use the application checklist to provide contact information for the school official responsible for their current and previous grades, attendance, discipline, and standardized testing. Once you enter these details, the system automatically emails a documentation request to the official.

  6. 06Recommendations

Recommendations are submitted through the application checklist. You must enter contact details for the student’s current English teacher, math teacher, and their principal, head of school, counselor, or advisor. The system emails the necessary forms directly to each person, and your checklist automatically marks items as complete once submissions are received.
