Formed in 1987 through the merger of Sacred Heart High School (founded 1874) and Cathedral High School (tracing to 1852), Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory (SHC) is a Lasallian Vincentian Catholic, coeducational high school serving Grades 9–12 in San Francisco‘s Cathedral Hill neighborhood. SHC draws students from San Francisco, San Mateo, Marin, and Alameda counties, enrolling roughly 1,300–1,350 students.
