Testing Policy: Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade
Complete the on-campus playgroup assessment and Fieldston campus tour.
2nd Grade–5th Grade
Visit campus for an assessment and attend the parent/guardian interview.
Testing Policy for Applicants to Grades 6-11
Beginning in the fall of 2021, the school has operated under a “test optional” policy for applicants to our Middle and Upper divisions.
Under this policy, applicant families have the option to either submit results from the ISEE or SSAT, or, instead, submit a graded/evaluated analytical writing sample (preferably with teacher comments and/or the corresponding grading rubric).
For applicant families who elect to submit ISEE or SSAT testing results, those reports will be used to help contextualize other items in the applicant’s file. For applicant families who elect to submit a graded/evaluated analytical writing sample, that document will be used in the same way, and the admissions committee will only view the absence of test scores as an indication of that family’s preference under this policy.
Essay Questions: Applications require a parent statement to be completed, which can be found on the Finalsite Enrollment application portal.
