How are clubs and affinity groups different?

Great question. Think of clubs as your “I’m into this” spaces and affinity groups as your “I am this” spaces. Clubs are open to everyone and center around shared interests—like baking, coding, surfing, or debating which Mario Kart track is superior. They’re for hobbies, creativity, and just vibing with people who geek out over the same stuff. Affinity groups are all about identity. They’re spaces for students who share something deeper, like culture, race, gender, or neurodiversity, to connect and support each other. Both are student-led, staff-supported, and totally essential. It’s about what you do. The other’s about who you are. And yes, you can belong to both.
